What is the HPV virus?
HPV also known as Human papillomavirus is a diverse group
of over 100 types of DNA-based viruses. HPV is typically is
found in both humans and animals and is typically caused by
sexual contact. The HPV Virus can cause several unwanted side
effects ranging from warts to cancer. Cervical Cancer is especially
prevelant in women affected with HPV. The HPV Virus can be contracted
from just one sexual encounter. Reports for the actual percentage
of people affected vary, but statistics in the U.S. alone range
from 14% to as much as 90% depending on the source and conditions
